We have put together a list of textbooks available for use by NE-YGN members. Right now it’s just an Excel spreadsheet, but we are working on making it interactive on the website. Save yourself some money and borrow a textbook!

Anyone with ideas for events, feel free to comment on this post! The types of events we can do has been limited due to the cut in budget that comes with the tough times we all are facing. If there is something that you would like to suggest, post it here anyways and we can always organize an event that is not subsidized by NA-YGN.
With the new arrival of Hartford’s own United Football League (UFL) team, the Hartford Colonials, I suggest that we show our support and organize a group event to go to one of the games. They play at Rentschler Field in Hartford, CT. Let me know if you would be interested in this!
Also, anyone who isn’t in Windsor please feel free to comment with ideas on regional events that we could do. We organized a ski trip to Sunday River, ME over the winter with 24 members from Windsor. This kind of event is something that would be a great opportunity for everyone in the New England region.

Tom Congedo, Manager of R&D Management, and Carlos Leipner, Director of Strategy, Research & Technology Unit, from the Research and Technology Unit (formerly Science and Technology Center) will visit 20 International Drive on Monday, May 17th. They will be giving a presentation to a general audience at 2:00 in the cafeteria.
They have also requested a meeting with our Fellow engineers to share the Windsor experience. They would like an interactive discussion about the research efforts here and some thoughts, ideas and suggestions from Windsor Fellows of what direction research might take. They would also like to know how they would be able to help in Windsor. The Fellow engineers have been asked to invite NA-YGN engineers to this discussion.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the different research efforts here at Westinghouse. Please attend the presentation in the cafeteria and also be proactive in working with one of our Fellows to take part in the discussion beforehand. The Fellows have been given different times at which to attend the discussion beforehand (on the 17th), so please coordinate this discussion attendance with them (if you attend with a Fellow).
Roddy the Nuclear Fuel Pellet has been making appearances at all sorts of events lately. Here he is at the Connecticut Children’s Museum teaching future generations the benefits of Nuclear Power.
